Mather + Platt Receive R5.5 Million Order for Pumps in Zambia

Mather & Platt have been awarded an order for 5.5 million Rand for pumps and spares from ERTEC for the water reticulation system in Zambia covering four towns. (Kitwe, Chingola, Chililabombwe & Luanshya).

The order consists of 96 pumps in total (59 Mather & Platt Split case pumps, 19 Lowara submersible pumps and 18 Turbosan sewage pumps) monitoring equipment and spares.

Dave Johnson Divisional Manager for Mather & Platt says they have been working with ERTEC for over 12 months to secure the contract. Mather & Platt are providing the pumps which will be installed and commissioned by ERTEC.

The pumps will be delivered in September and the contract will be completed by the end of the year.

Having a pump company with a large range of pumps for a range of different applications meant that all the pumps could be sourced from one supplier Mather & Platt (SA) (PTY) Ltd.

Mather & Platt are now firmly back on the road to success and putting the M&P back into pumps, following the re-launch last year.

Mather & Platt SA Dispatch First Major Order

The first half of the ERTEC, Zambia pump order designed for water reticulation systems in Kitwe, Chingola, Chililabombwe and Luanshya has landed in South Africa from India and the pumps are now on their way to their new homes. The balance of the order is currently in Mumbai and is due to be delivered at the end of the year.

Dave Johnson, Divisional Manager of the Mather & Platt ‘own brand’ division, says “We are very pleased with the service we have received from the Mather & Platt factory in Mumbai. Several large pumps are still in transit at present but the order should be completed by the end of the year. The 96 pumps will make a substantial difference to water and waste management in the respective communities. The tough, enduring quality of the various Mather & Platt pump brands make them a sound, long-lasting investment in the health and welfare of Zambia’s people. We are renowned for our back-up service and offer many ways to extend the life of your Mather & Platt pump, no matter what age or size.”

Together with the recent re-launch of the Mather & Platt brand, the company has also moved to smart new premises in Jet Park near Johannesburg International Airport that reflect the evolving ethos of one of South Africa’s most reliable pump brands.
